Politics Aside: NYMTF

The GeorgeW hurricane has finally blown over. Evacuees are returning to the city. Some unfortunate people are repairing the damage of so much republican wind, but most of us are cautiously, cautiously trying to enjoy life between the storms of August and November.

In the spirit of "allright already, that's enough," refreshing refreshing, UNpolitical cheap theater can be found at the New York Musical Theater Festival, promising 67 events ranging from Altar Boyz (The Puerto Rican Traveling Theater on what its like to be a member of a Christian boys band) to Yes Nurse, No Nurse , a movie about all the fun you can have in an Amsterdam rest home. Watching the preview feels to DS like being caught in a shaken, tie-dyed bee hive, but you can form your own judgments here.

The New York Musical Theater Festival opens TOMORROW, Monday 09/13/04, and lasts until October 3rd. Information, tickets, articles here, here and here.

And, FYI, all NYMTF plays appeart to be $15 ($10 for Yes Nurse, not counting whatever substance you might need to enjoy that better), unless you want to drop $250 on the opening gala.

Enjoy
